Hi *,
for the upcoming new version 3.6.0, the first public ALPHA1 builds now start to be available on pre-releases. This build is intended for alpha and beta testers and will not be available on the mirrors or linked from our web-site. As for the steps towards the 3.6.0 release, please refer to our release plan timings here: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#3.6_release Builds are now being uploaded to a public (but non-mirrored - so don't spread news too widely!) place, as soon as they're available. Grab them here: http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/ If you've a bit of time, please give them a try & report bugs not yet in bugzilla. The first beta release is planned for after the feature freeze that will happen on 4th of June 2012. Thanks a lot for your help, Fridrich _______________________________________________ LibreOffice mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice |

To be honest: I will not use that version for intensive tests (= "real life work"), because of "[Bug 50344] Basic Macro will not run because of missing Java" and "[Bug 50344] Basic Macro will not run because of missing Java" I only can do some smaller tests with it. It is from master, checkout from Thursday morning. The only advantage over daily build is that it provides all localizations. In addition, it is built on the same machine and uses the same configure switches that will be used for official builds. Note that it is dev build like the daily builds. We will switch to release names during rc phase. > To be honest: I will not use that version for intensive tests (= "real > life work"), because of "[Bug 50344] Basic Macro will not run because of > missing Java" and "[Bug 50344] Basic Macro will not run because of > missing Java" I only can do some smaller tests with it. Fair enough. Best regards, Petr _______________________________________________ LibreOffice mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice |

Hi,
first obvious thing I notice on Windows is the menu bar being glassed. That wouldn't be a problem of itself (I'm used to that from Firefox) if the font color used for the menu entries combined with the badly done glow effect wasn't making the menu completely unreadable. This needs a lot of polishing. _______________________________________________ LibreOffice mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice |

Hi Rainer,
You write The Bug_50344 "Basic Macro" about. This error is a duplicate of the bug_48946 (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48946). LibO-Dev_3.6.0alpha1 released without removal of this stop error. -- ape |

Hi,
thanks for feedback. I know that Kendy pushed improvements in this area last few days. It might be already solved in current daily build. It was discussed at the ESC as the "UI cleanups / improvements (Kendy)" point in "Known features racing the freeze". The final thing will probably have to go in as a late feature [or the current looke reverted] later this week. But I'm meeting with Mirek M. tomorrow, and I'm sure he'll come up with something beautiful :-) All the best, Kendy _______________________________________________ LibreOffice mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice |

It is: - i386 only - in https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-prereleases/ - totally untested - I had to disable smoketest to finish it - will eat your cat and sacrifice your children to Zul - if you throw valueable data at it or install it on a productive system and complain about dataloss, I will mock you in public for it ;) - if you file bugs however, thats of course most welcome! - see: - http://blog.documentfoundation.org/2012/06/03/new-and-changed-features-experience-and-test-them-now/ - http://blog.documentfoundation.org/2012/05/11/new-and-changed-functions-you-can-experience-and-test-them-now/ for things to test and try out To test this: - install Ubuntu 12.04 in a VMWare/VirtualBox - sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases - sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install libreoffice libreoffice-gnome Dont use this on productive machines! LibreOffice-3.6.0~alpha1~0ubuntu1~precise1~ppa4 from that PPA should now give you a base for testing. All of the above warnings still apply.
