Hi all,
Astron started working on changing Main program's window (soffice.exe). I like when this window's icons have a large size. Does it need? Archive "main_window.7z" contains images that I use. main_window.7z -- ape

Solo he took the document out of it? There is nothing else different about
it from how it is now. I don't know why but I do not like it. Hi Ape,
> Archive "main_window.7z" contains images that I use. Interesting idea to remove the document icons from there. But why did you do that? The "Templates" icons you made seems a bit cluttered to me. The "Open" icon is interesting but doesn't fit with Tango. However, it should, since we need this icon in quite a number of places. Astron. PS: For anyone reading this, wondering which of these icons I actually did, the answer is: the three small ones at the bottom were done by Alex and me some time ago. The rest is ape's creation. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [hidden email] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted |

Hi Astron,

No that does not prevent change this icon. -- >The "Open" icon is interesting but doesn't fit with Tango. I deliberately left on the theme (Tango, Classic, etc.) to the Brand. This is only the direction of motion, but not the final result. The folder's form can be any. The main thing is the color of the folder icon and the document must match the brand LibreOffice. -- ape P.S. Icon "folder" contains an error - the template. See a replacement.folder_32.png |

Hi, Astron
What do You think about the idea of replacing "addons_" icons of OXT files (2 main colours; the palette by 256 colours)? -- ape addons-oxt_256colours.7z |

P.S. Tango theme in need of replacement icons ("documents" to "templates"):
images_tango.zip\res\sx03127;sx03130;sx03163;sx03228;lx03127;lx03130;lx03163;lx03228. But I'm not sure that the big icons are needed. The window "Open" does not use large icons in the Windows-OS. -- ape tango_res.7z |

Hello,
I do not see the point in changing the icons for the startup application, you have not done anything but take away the documents in the icons. why are you working on this? what are you trying to fix or change about this? Hello, Andrew
1. The file "backing_left.png" includes the post address TDF (under the logo). This is important in the image. You can see a picture of classical themes, which is excluded from LibreOffice. So I did not publish the rest of the image from folders "images_classic.zip\res\.."; "images_classic.zip\framework\res\..". But I use this updated theme (icons "Galaxy_16*16" have been replaced by "Classic") only and sometimes distracted in the Tango. 2. Reasons: - The Classic theme of the lightest (1.8 MB uncompressed archive). - The theme is very suitable for users who are accustomed to Microsoft_Office. But this is the most difficult theme, because it uses indexed colors and large icons the size of "26*26". 3. I do not want to change anything now, because there is only "alpha_3.5;3.6" of the classic theme. --- ape |

Hello ape, Andrew,

In fact, even having the logo there is debatable from my point of view. Sure, but only for users of Office 95-2000. Office XP and newer have used different and more modern themes. But there is The Document Foundation, and there is a button "Donate" on the main web page. >Sure, but only for users of Office 95-2000. The user must have the choice to look at a very beautiful buttons or relieve a hard life of your video card. For example, I use the classic theme of the operating system (WIN7 and WINXP-64), even though my PCs equipped NVidia_GT560. Regards, ape. |

Hi everyone,
To be honest, I don't like the changes proposed in this mailing list. I'm really happy with the current home screen design. That said, I wouldn't necessarily be against bigger icons or having a link to the website somewhere, as long as it was designed well. 2012/4/28 ape <[hidden email]> > Hello, Astron. > > You wrote: > > >I can't really see the use of having the post address there. Aero is very tasking, true, but icons don't really figure into the equation here -- the difference between processing power required for the current and the classic icons is so miniscule that it doesn't really make sense to make big design decisions because of it. In the long run, though, we could opt for a less tasking design direction that uses simple 2D shapes and few colors instead of an intricate mix of various colors and gradients, quasi-3D, and shadows and bevels. Google is doing this on its services and on Android, Microsoft is doing this with Metro on Windows, and designers in general are increasingly opting for minimalistic designs.
