Fwd: Technologies in Education Conference

I know we've got some LibO people in close proximity to this upcoming conference (Gabriel!)

As we've discussed the importance of presenting LibO to educational users, this could be a strategic event for us to attend.

Re: Fwd: Technologies in Education Conference

Could you add this to the events calendar even if no one is attending
for now? Maybe we could find someone at a later date but it will still
show on the calendar. http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Events

Cheers

Re: Fwd: Technologies in Education Conference

Thank you, Gabriel!

I've also added myself as a tentative attendee. If my schedule is free, I can take the train up from NYC to help out there.

Gabriel,

Do you have a stock presentation you can give? I see the call for presentations is open through February 15: http://teched.strose.edu/node/8

Let's (you and me) get in touch with the organizers and see what we can do to work with them.

FYI, I thought that we had the outline of a presentation somewhere on
our marketing wiki pages but I couldn't find one. I know that Cor just
did a presentation in the Netherlands and he might have some documents
that you could use (they are most likely in Dutch), you can find the
thread here:
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.documentation.libreoffice.marketing/1533

I also believe that Florian made a presentation at a conference a while
ago. He may have some presentation material.

Lastly, I am not sure if Italo would have anything at this point but he
may have some ideas about presentation materials.

We really need to start making a list and archiving some of this
material on the marketing wiki pages.

Cheers

Marc

Re: "... start making a list and archiving some of this material ..."

I'd like to second this. I'm planning on attending SCaLE in February,
and I see an event in Tempe AZ in April.

Also, there may be other opportunities in the short term to make
presentations in Tucson.

Cheers,
jec

Yes, I do have presentation(s) I can give.  I have one that I presented at
FOSSVT in April 2009 specially for educators that detailed the benefits of
using OOo / open source software in an educational environment.  I can
update / adapt it for LibreOffice if the topic would suffice.

Hi Gabriel:

Once you have adapted it to LibreOffice, would it be possible for you to
release it under a specific license and could we save a copy to our
marketing wiki page for our use?

We could use this type of presentation at many more conferences. :-)

Cheers
