Happy July 4th!

A very happy July 4th to our American cousins with whom we share the
longest shared border in the world. Best of wishes on this great day,
and raised glasses on this great American day of celebrations.

Cheers

Marc

Sounds like a good plan - over to my brothers for BBQ and to play with
his kids, kids....then to the top of the hill for the fireworks.

Well, Marc;

You're toast must have had some effect.  They're forecasting clear skies
tonight for the fireworks.  Not unusual this time of year in most places
maybe but, for San Francisco in July?  Unheard of!  [?]

Off to the Embarcadero with a picnic then.

Cheers,
-Craig

I had to deal with a fall issue for my wife.  She had a fall last night
in the nursing facility and ended up needing her skin be glued back
together - they do not do stitches anymore.  Had to deal with the
"fallout" of such an incident at a nursing facility, including taking
photos of her face myself.  This was not a good holiday for either of us.

As for fireworks, New York State made fireworks illegal for everyone but
the "professionals" who can afford the fees.  But last night it was a
constant boom-boom-booooom till 2 or 3 am.  One was loud enough to
rattle my windows on the 10th floor.  The Fire-Rescue and Ambulance
sirens were going off every 15 to 20 minutes till way past midnight.
The police sirens were not going off much since there were too many
calls with no one around when they get to the place where the booms
happens.  So they rarely go out on the fireworks calls.

All the professional shows happened either Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Tonight there are very few in the communities up to 30 miles away.  The
next community as large as Elmira, is about an hour or more in any
direction.  Elmira is the county seat.
