LibreOffice v.3.6 Features webpage

Hi everyone,

The 3.6 release webpage[1] has been readied for the upcoming LibreOffice
v.3.6 release day. Could you have a look at it and let us know of any
problems you may find with it?

I am not sure on what day v.3.6 will be released, but the sooner the
page is completed/approved the sooner the language groups can get to
work on their version.

NOTE that the menu line (Download menu) is full and that the v.3.4
Features page will be removed from the menu line to make space for the
3.6 features button.

Thanks for the help from all of those who participated with completing
the page.

I think the black table borders are a bit hard on the eyes. Something more subtle would be good IMHO. Maybe even make it transparent?

Re-wrote the sentence for more clarity:

Pressing "Ctrl+[" will decrease or "Ctrl+]" increase the font size of
the selected text, respectively.

It seems to be a problem in IE 9.0 and in Chrome 20 but not in FF. I'm
attaching a snapshot for you. If it is necessary I will put it to the wiki.

Yup, I can now see the problem in Linux Chrome.

I tried to fix it but it causes space rendering problems with FF and
also with Chrome. I'll try another format for that section later today
when I have time and I'll make sure I test it with both FF and Chrome. I
may have access to a Windows machine to test it on IE9.0.

I'll leave a note later on today (UTC-5).

The shortkey Ctrl+[ doesn't work with WIN8-64bit and German (and
obviously some other) keyboard layouts. It will be Ctrl+8 and Ctrl+9

Note that on French (Canadian) keyboards the shortkeys are
Ctrl-RightAlt+[ and Ctrl-RightAlt+]

translating the page for their own sites before the release day.

Does anyone have a list of "experimental features" in 3.6?

I can see that the CMIS integration is there, but what else?

Not that I want it on the public page, but I think we should know our
selves (perhaps put it on the wiki?). It's interesting to know whats coming
up in the future ;-)

I write it with every new feature page, but I just keep going...

When you'd use colorbox (just check the appropriate checkbox), you
wouldn't need to explicitly link all the images for a bigger version.

A link "previous release notes" pointing to the line before the
current page would be nice. i.e. 3.6 pointing to 3.5, 3.5 pointing to

Also you named the page 3-6-features-and-fixes, whereas the previous
pages are called 3-x-new-features-and-fixes (→ new)

So I'd change the url-segment for consistency.

Already done -- top line with the links. Maybe it is not visible enough?

Yup, I just noticed that yesterday and was going to add the "new" when
the checking was done with the Marketing/Website teams. Then I'll let
the language groups know that it is ready for translation -- before the
release date, so that we can coordinate the opening of the pages (if
these groups decide to do so).

I was wondering if someone could tell me why some of the top lines of
text in some left hand cells don't match up with the top of lines of
text in the right hand cells?

I use FireFox to work on the SilverStripe site and if you check out the
release page with Chrome you will see what I mean on some of the
sections of the tables.

I imagine that I should go in and tweak the html code a little to make
the table cells play nice? It has something to do with how I entered the
images.

For example: the section "Writer" -> "Support for importing Office
SmartArt". The top line of text in the left cell matches the top line of
text in the right cell in FF, but in Chrome there is a problem with
matching.

No need to tweak the html if you instead change the height of the
preview-images of one table row to be the same height.

yes, but not only.

No, in my version of firefox the "Import Filter for Corel Draw
documents " is not on the same height as the  "Support for importing
Office SmartArt"

left cell: image of height 112px, linebreak, description
right cell: linebreak, then image of height 115px, linebreak, description

So on the right, you have an additional "<br>" that moves the image down

Also (another problem), in FF, if I choose an image, the image corners
will activate for me to resize; in Chrome, the image corners will not

on the image then do a Ctrl-X and then paste wherever I want; in Chrome,
I have to drag my mouse cursor over the image until it is highlighted
(this works only after a little practice) and then I can do Ctrl-X and move.

I am not sure if this behaviour happens only on my system (MageiaV.2).
