Hi all,
in the last days I get a new environment for a extension and template repository for LibreOffice working. You can find the new site currently at http://kermit.documentfoundation.org:9089/LibreOffice-Extensions-and-Templates/ There is only a placeholder for a logo on the site at the moment. A short time ago there was a proposal for a logo for the new repo but the discussion stops. Maybe with the new site at the doors a discussion how the logo of the new site should look like is easier ;-) Regards, Andreas -- ## Developer LibreOffice ## Freie Office-Suite für Linux, Mac, Windows ## http://LibreOffice.org ## Support the Document Foundation (http://documentfoundation.org) ## Meine Seite: http://www.amantke.de -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [hidden email] Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted |

Hi,
I just saw that you're currently using Plone for the Extension site. I don't l know if this is all fully functional today, anyway, if not, have a look at Mozilla's add-on page which is also fully open-source and probably well-tested: http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2009/05/08/amo-is-open-source/ . As for the icon, I support the idea with the clippy with scraps clipped to the TDF logo (it needed some refinement, though). Here we could add another graphic - something to be used as reference to extensions and templates inside the product an on our website/wiki. I stayed with the words, emphasizing the "X" in extensions (like Xtra) and the "T" in templates, creating "XT" as possible acronym. All: Jump in, comment, improve, propose better ideas! I consider it easier to provide other ideas when there is at least one visual proposal... @Astron - I was the who submitted the clippy-with-scraps logo. You can
find it here: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:LibO_Extensions_v1.png I made it using LibO Draw. I will be happy to provide the source file to anyone who is interested in refining it, etc. When this topic was being discussed some time ago, I remember Christopher Noack raised the question whether we need a logo to start with... I am of the opinion that we do need a logo/icon for extensions that fits well with the other LibO icons. And we should use it consistently across the website, individual programs, etc. Perhaps, it's time we started this thread again and gather more opinions/thoughts/suggestions about this. @Andreas - Your website design is nice and clean. What do you think about changing the colors of tabbed links bar to green so that it becomes more consistent with the website design of other LibO sites? Cheers! Vamsi. nobody has any opinion on this topic? Even a "I don't like it" would be a reaction... I like your Design, especially the look of the word 'eXtension'. Maybe
the connection between X and T should be emphasized a bit more. Good morning everyone,
Sorry for top-posting (again), already on the go ... Klaus-Jürgen, maybe this was a slip (brain-to-keyboard error) on my side or some misunderstanding. What I meant is that we had a yellow sputnik on the OOo Extension website (I never found to be a good metaphor) and the blue puzzle piece in LibO. The latter might work very well, since blue is the first additional branding color (=extension). So I think the following would work well when looking at the thread: * using the neutral header by Bernhard (text, no logo alteration) * having a blue puzzle piece sub-category for extensions * adding a yellow (light) sub-category for templates (Tango icon set --> yellow star = new) I can do rough mockup, but not before the end of the week, since I still think about the dowload page in general. Or, may anybody jump in? Klaus-Jürgen, what do you think? Cheers, Christoph -- Sent via mobile...
