Updates to Marketing wiki pages and events calendar

FYI:

* I have updated the Marketing wiki page so that the "Events Calendar"
appears in the menu bar as well as entry on the landing page itself.

* I have added the language bar for the localizing of the events
calendar as well as the FAQ page

* I have also added a series of US events to the events calendar. Where
an event is past, I have written "LibreOffice -- was not represented"
and where events are upcoming I have written "LibreOffice -- PLANS
PENDING".

If you are a US citizen and are interested in marketing LibreOffice,
please consider joining the US marketing team mailing list[1].

Also, if you are a US citizen and are interested in marketing
LibreOffice, feel free to browse through the conferences on the events
calendar[2] to see if there is a conference that you may consider
attending and organizing some LibreOffice presence (this may mean
manning a table/booth or just passing out leaflets/pamphlets etc.
Finances are usually an issue, but the first step is letting us know of
your availability and then we can work on financing the event.

Cheers,

Marc

I think being a US *resident* is more relevant in this context. Country of citizenship and country of residence are not necessarily the same. (Sorry, I'm being picky this morning.)

You are right, whether a citizen or not, being a resident is definitely
what I meant. Even for people who are willing to travel to a conference
and represent the TDF/LibreOffice brand would be welcome.

Thanks for pointing that out.

BTW ... I thought of you when I posted the info for the (US) Open Help
Conference and Sprints event on the calendar (10-15 aug 2012)[1]. It
sounded like a conference that would fit right into what you do so well
-- documentation. If only the TDF/LibreOffice would have enough $$$$ to
support you if you were able to go. Documentation is so important to the
project. *nudge to TDF* :-)

Cheers,

Marc

I've been in correspondence with the OpenHelp Conference, which asked
for someone from LO Docs to attend if possible. I would love to go;
but even if the money were made available, I do not wish to enter the
USA -- thus ruling out not only that conference but many others that I
would like to attend. I'm very glad that the LibreOffice Conference is
in Europe! And I wish more conferences were held in Canada. :-)

I just wanted to say thank you for all your work - really great to have
you on board and driving things!

After LinuxTag next week, I will have more time again for jumping into
marketing, and look forward to working with you and all the others here
- thanks so much!

Re: Updates to Marketing wiki pages and events calendar

I'd like an excuse to visit Brasil!

Mexico: AFAIK, it's difficult to get there from here without going
through some US airport.

Re: Updates to Marketing wiki pages and events calendar

Hi :)
Perhaps Cuba?  or am i going completely the wrong direction?  I guess Cuba buys into the US Company more than Brasil.  We hear a lot from Brasil but almost nothing from Cuba.
Regards from
Tom :)
