Re: [libreoffice-accessibility] EXTENSIONS dialogue not reading

hi.
i tryed libreoffice with jaws11 before and its not accessible with it!
jaws did not read the word document and the menus only were accessible!
instead of reading document, jaws read the font attribution only!
is it a jaws problem or it needs java and also java access briedge to
use libreoffice with jaws?
i appreciate any help and advise in this regard.
God bless you all.

Re: [libreoffice-accessibility] EXTENSIONS dialogue not reading

Hi Blindjourno,

I checked the dialog and the main problem is that the extensions listbox isnt accessible by screen reader, as I assume it isnt a standard control (accerciser has it as a scroll pane with label children), but there are other a11y problems as well. I'll be filing the following bugs shortly.

1) Pressing up and down changes the selection entry of the listbox but the entries arent exposed in a way that could be read by a screen reader

2) If focus is in the listbox and an entry doesnt have an ‘options’ button, pressing tab wont exit the list

3) Pressing the context menu key doesnt bring up context menu that appears when right-clicking with mouse

Regards,
Yousuf

Salam Nasrin,

I've tried JAWS 15 and it works fine to read a document. LibreOffice no longer uses the java access bridge on windows since 4.3 and instead uses IAccessible2. < https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IAccessible2 >

Thanks! also, is there a way to publish to dreamwidth or other blogs
using Libreoffice directly? Not copying and pasting?

Re: [libreoffice-accessibility] EXTENSIONS dialogue not reading

I'm aware of libreoffice's built in wiki publisher feature to publish to wikis, but not aware of any option to publish to blogs. If it is a feature you are looking for, submit it as an enhancement request on bugzilla.
